Road Trip: Ford DLC Releases September 29, 2026

Road Trip: Ford DLC Releases September 29, 2026

American Truck Simulator is getting its first Road Trip car pack on September 29, 2026, when the Road Trip: Ford DLC arrives. The pack gives players a very different way to use the existing ATS map, replacing the usual truck cab with several Ford cars and light vehicles built for everyday road travel.

SCS Software has confirmed four vehicles for the release: the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, 2023 Ford F-150, 2023 Ford Bronco, and the Ford Crown Victoria produced between 1998 and 2012. For players who enjoy expanding driving games with extra vehicles and customization, there is a familiar appeal here similar to browsing GTA 5 Mods for new cars and different ways to explore an established map. The Ford lineup itself covers very different styles of driving, from a classic muscle car to a pickup, SUV, and full-size sedan.

A different way to explore ATS

Road Trip is designed around more than simply driving smaller vehicles. Players will be able to take on smaller delivery jobs, customize cars with accessories and different paint options, and use the road network without following the usual trucking routine.

That should change how familiar parts of the map feel. A road that normally exists mainly as a connection between depots can become the main attraction when there is no trailer behind you. SCS specifically points to places such as Route 66, the Midwest, and mountain roads in Montana as examples of routes that fit the new driving style.

The Atlas feature

The Ford pack will also unlock the Atlas feature. Atlas is built around discovering and learning about landmarks while travelling, giving players another reason to explore beyond the most efficient route.

Importantly, Atlas is not limited to cars. Players who prefer to remain in their trucks can still use the feature after purchasing the Road Trip: Ford DLC. That means the pack adds something to the standard trucking experience even for players who are not interested in switching careers.

What launches on September 29

The Ford DLC is the first confirmed Road Trip release with a specific launch date. It introduces the vehicle pack itself and connects directly with the wider Road Trip systems being added to American Truck Simulator, including Car Mode, courier work, customization, and map exploration.

SCS has positioned the release as the start of a new type of gameplay rather than a replacement for trucking. Players can continue their existing truck careers and use the same profile, while Road Trip gives them another reason to revisit roads they may already know well.

For anyone interested in the new car-focused side of ATS, September 29, 2026 is the date to watch.
