The Nevada Rework is replacing several older city areas in American Truck Simulator with completely rebuilt versions. Reno, Carson City, Elko, Winnemucca, and Ely are all part of the project, with updated road networks, new scenery, revised layouts, and more location-specific detail across northern and eastern Nevada.
The goal is not to make every city feel alike. SCS Software is rebuilding each location around its own setting, industries, and road connections, while keeping some familiar elements from the original map where they still fit. Players who enjoy games shaped by strong regional identity may recognize a similar appeal in Farming Simulator 25 Mods, where new maps and local industries can completely change how a familiar simulation feels without changing its basic structure.

Reno gets a full rebuild
Reno has been rebuilt from scratch. Its road network, scenery, and overall scale are being updated, while recognizable parts of the previous version are being retained where possible.
Its location near the Sierra Nevada and close to California makes the city an important part of the western Nevada road network. SCS also expects plenty of jobs to take players in and out of Reno, so the rebuild affects both the look of the city and the routes used for regular freight work.

Carson City keeps a different identity
South of Reno, Carson City is being rebuilt around a noticeably different atmosphere. As Nevada’s capital, it includes government buildings and landmarks such as the Nevada State Capitol, while its position also connects players with routes toward Lake Tahoe and other parts of western Nevada.
The rework updates streets, scenery, and surrounding areas without turning Carson City into a smaller copy of Reno. Familiar locations from the old map are also being rebuilt where they still make sense.
Elko and Winnemucca stay tied to freight
Farther east, Elko and Winnemucca have a stronger connection to the industries and transport corridors of northern Nevada. Elko is associated with mining and farming, and SCS is adding new custom depots to give its delivery locations more local identity.
Winnemucca remains a regional stopping point along a major east-west route. Its revised layout is designed to better reflect the real-world location, while the surrounding valleys, mountains, and desert keep the city visually separate from the more urban western part of the state.

Ely brings a more remote setting
Ely sits farther east on U.S. Route 50, the road commonly known as the “Loneliest Road in America.” Its remote location and mountain-and-desert surroundings give it a different purpose from the larger cities in the rework.
SCS is preserving that atmosphere while upgrading the roads, scenery, and important locations to match its current map quality. The result should be a Nevada where the major cities no longer feel like variations of the same older map style.
Las Vegas is intentionally missing from this preview because SCS has confirmed that it will receive its own dedicated spotlight later. For now, the focus remains on the other major Nevada cities being rebuilt across the state.
